Casasimarro, 1946 Photographer, Photography historian, journalist and Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in San Fernando he is one of the most important photography historian in Spain. Author of several books about Spanish history of photography, he dedicated more than three decades recollecting visual memories of our country, bringing back to light numerous pictures condemn to oblivion. Lunwerg Editors published his greatest works, among which: La fotografía como fuente de memoria. (2008),Historia de la fotografía en España: fotografía y sociedad desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XXI (2005), 150 years of Spanish Photography(2002), Madrid, laberinto de memorias: (cien años de fotografía, 1839-1936). He was commissioner of several important exhibitions related to history of photography. His work was recognized with the prize “Les Recontres d’Arles” in 1996 and a Special Prize by the Ministry of Culture.
